Women fitness enthusiasts in Bugolobi, we have great news! This month brought with it good tidings in the form of a new branch of FitcliqueAfrica gym, located at Mango Groove in Bugolobi. It’s exciting to see our dream of providing safe fitness/exercising spaces for women in Uganda and beyond slowly inch its way forward.
The new gym will be managed by Marlene, a new addition to the FitcliqueAfrica family, who will also double as a trainer.
The gym is open three days a week and offers Yoga, by Mildred, on Tuedays and Thursdays at 6.00pm and a Boot Camp, by Marlene, on Saturdays at 9.00am.
But what is a boot camp?
According to Wikipedia, a boot camp is a ‘group physical training program conducted by gyms, personal trainers… to build strength and fitness through a variety of intense group intervals over a 1 hour period of time.’ Interval training is a type of physical training that consists of a series of intense workouts broken up by periods of rest.
What to expect in the FitcliqueAfrica boot camp, in Marlene’s words
‘The boot camp contains 4 circuits. We do a warm up at the beginning, then the main circuits, abs and then a cool down. That’s what our boot camp is- four different things all in an hour’s workout. It’s a really pumped up workout with music with no resting period. The resting period comes during stretching.’
Using props like benches and tires, the boot camp offers thorough and intense full body workout which leads to increased cardiovascular efficiency, muscle building and toning and stress relief.
Yes, the boot camp seems hectic but trust us, the fun is where the challenge is. Step out of your comfort zone and come attend our boot camp to see what we mean.
